Director & Principal Environmental Practitioner
Cameron is the founder and Principal Environmental Practitioner of EnviroAssist, bringing more than 20 years of operational environmental management experience across local government, the New Zealand Defence Force, and major primary industry operations.
His career spans hydrology, environmental compliance, and resource consent implementation roles with Horizons Regional Council, Tasman District Council, and Napier City Council, alongside operational experience with Fonterra, Ravensdown, Foodstuffs, and Canterbury Civil Defence Emergency Management. Cameron has also worked overseas in the UK as a Project Officer, Educator, Coach, and Environmental Specialist for a railway operating company.
He currently serves as Environmental Compliance Manager on NZTA's SH2 Hawke's Bay Expressway project and as Lead Environmental Practitioner for the Hawke's Bay Regional Council Flood Resilience Programme, embedding directly into client teams.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) specialising in Geomorphology and Fluvial Systems from Massey University, and is ISO14001 certified as a Developer and Auditor. Cameron played a pivotal role in Hawke's Bay's disaster response following Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023, leading environmental waste management initiatives in crisis conditions.
Outside EnviroAssist, Cameron runs a small lifestyle block and is a keen trail runner and dirt bike rider. He volunteers with the Ahuriri Estuary Protection Society, coaches kids' hockey, serves as a GoodSAM responder, and is Patrol Leader and Chairman of the Cape Coast Community Patrol.
Director & Commercial Manager
Louise looks after the commercial side of EnviroAssist, from financial management and client administration through to contracts and the systems that keep the business running day to day.
Louise grew up in Opiki, a small rural community in the Manawatū, and studied at Massey University, gaining a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accounting, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Accountancy — the pathway to becoming a Chartered Accountant. She trained in audit with PwC from 2001 to 2004, becoming a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
From 2004 to 2007, Louise worked in London with Inchcape and then Land Securities, where she managed a budget of more than £40 million as Business Overheads Accountant. Back in New Zealand, she held roles at Palmerston North City Council, Horizons Regional Council, and Conferences & Events before running her own business for a decade, contracting accounting, HR, and budgeting advice to small businesses.
Louise joined EnviroAssist in April 2025 as Commercial Manager and is also a Director. Outside the business, she runs Yolky Dokey Eggs, supplying the Hawke's Bay community with eggs from freely-roaming hens, and provides a full-time Uber service to three boisterous, demanding kids.
Graduate Environmental Management Consultant
Zoe joins EnviroAssist with hands-on experience delivering flood resilience, infrastructure, and environmental projects for Hawke's Bay Regional Council, where she worked as a Project Coordinator from February 2025.
At HBRC, Zoe supported major projects across every stage of the project lifecycle, from consenting and technical investigations through to design, procurement, and construction delivery — including the $13 million Pōrangahau Flood Mitigation project, the $30 million Level of Service Stopbank Upgrade Programme, and the $24 million Pump Stations Upgrade Programme. She also managed the Borrow Catalogue, a GIS-based geotechnical database supporting construction material sourcing across the Heretaunga Plains.
Zoe holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Geography from Massey University, and was awarded the NZ Geographical Society Prize in Geography in 2023. During her studies, she produced a Sustainable Management Plan for Te Mata Park using ArcGIS.
Outside of work, Zoe is a self-confessed Formula 1 addict who will happily talk your ear off about the engineering behind the cars. When she's not watching races, you'll find her at her sewing machine learning to make her own clothing, or out walking Te Mata Peak and local beaches.
